NFL Week 4 started with a doozy we recapped on Friday because the Eagles/Packers needed and deserved their own post for bringing us real entertainment on a Thursday (the first signs of opposite day).
Tampa Bay QB Jameis Winston lit up the scoreboard with 4 TDs (and 1 bad INT) while his counterpart Rams QB Jared Goff (and his small hands) looked more like the Winston of the last few years throwing 3 interceptions (finally adding a TD in the 4th quarter) and a game-surrendering fumble that was returned for a TD.

TB WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin (who was listed on the injury report all week) are competing for the best 1-2 punch in the league and if Winston can keep up this type of play paired with their improved defense under veteran coordinator (and Philly native) Todd Bowles, they might just have something. Rams RB Todd Gurley woke up from a 3-week slumber to score 2 TDs pleasing fantasy owners at least for one week this season in this high scoring affair.
Washington rookie QB Dwayne Haskins did his best Eli Manning impersonation while in NY (NJ if we are being completely honest) visiting the Giants, throwing 0 TDs and 3 INTs in his first regular-season action. Giants QB Daniel Jones threw 1 TD to go with 2 INT, evening out from his stellar start just a week ago, but the Giants prevailed over a truly terrible Washington team that seems to be about as dead in the water by week 4 as a team could be.
Vikings QB Kirk Cousins continues to be allergic to stats as he was shutout (0 TDs) by the somewhat injured Bears’ defense. Vikings RB Dalvin Cook squeaked in a TD despite a miserable day by the offense. Bears’ QB Mitch Trubisky, one week removed from his potential “breakout performance,” left the game early with a shoulder injury (reports said it’s not too serious). Can you imagine losing to Chase Daniel (former Eagles’ backup)? LOL Vikings.

Brown’s RB Nick Chubb did his best to quiet Cleveland critics, exploding for 165 yards and 3 TDs in a stellar performance that saw their defense hold the dynamic Ravens QB Lamar Jackson to minimal damage. Keeping with the theme, is there anything more backward than the Brown’s being in first place in their division??
The Seahawks had their way with the Cardinals and (my newest) TE Will Dissly continues to be the darling of the fantasy football media.

Then there were a few “almost” opposite days that ended tragically but we still appreciate the effort. The Bills tried to drag the Patriots back down to earth, giving them all they had defensively but falling short in addition to losing QB Josh Allen who has been a big-time waiver wire add over the last few weeks. The Bills truly had no chance once Matt Barkley (a banner day for former Eagles’ backups) took the reins, but the Patriots showed some weakness for the first time this season. The Detroit Lions almost pulled off the second most exciting upset of the day, keeping the KC Chiefs at bay until the Chiefs finally took the lead on a 1-yard TD run by Darrel Williams with 20 seconds left in the game (opposite day on full display with 0 TDs for TD-machine Mahomes). The Denver Broncos QB Joe Flacco put up 3 TDs and 1 INT but the team allowed 225 yards on the ground to Jags RB Leonard Fournette and lost on a last-second field goal.
Sunday Night Football was won with 4 field goals since neither Teddy B nor Dak seemed willing to throw the ball more than 10 yards. Luckily, we were gifted Cris Collinsworth counting seconds during a slow-motion replay defying the basic concept of time, LOL:

Steelers RB James Connor finally made an appearance on the fantasy scoreboard Monday night and Bengals WR A.J. Green may never return after watching his team’s dreadful performance. Can we safely say just because you know Sean McVay, that doesn’t make you an offensive genius?
